Under the agreement, Leapmotor and Ambarella will jointly invest in R&D to create full-stack intelligent driving solutions, including perception, decision-making, and control, based on the CV3 platform.
Ambarella's CV3-AD series AI SoCs are renowned for their high performance, low power consumption, and advanced AI computing capabilities, providing a robust technological foundation for autonomous driving systems. The CV3-AD series chips are built using a 5nm automotive process and meet ASIL-B/D functional safety standards. These chips efficiently run a variety of advanced neural network algorithms, including CNN, Transformer, and BEV models.
Leapmotor's Founder, Chairman, and CEO Mr. Zhu Jiangming stated that Ambarella's CV3 platform offers substantial support for Leapmotor's intelligent driving systems. He emphasized that the partnership with Ambarella marks a significant step towards a new era of smart driving and strengthens Leapmotor's international expansion.
Leapmotor has been accelerating its international expansion efforts this year. On May 14, Stellantis led the formation of Leapmotor International, a joint venture in which Stellantis holds 51% and Leapmotor holds 49% of stake. Leveraging Stellantis’ global distribution network, Leapmotor International plans to launch Leapmotor vehicles in nine European countries—France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Greece, and Romania—starting in September.
