IM Motors, Alibaba-backed Banma launch IM AIOS smart cockpit
Beijing (Gasgoo)- On March 17, IM Motors, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, in collaboration with Alibaba's automotive intelligence arm Banma, and food delivery giant Ele.me, unveiled the "IM AIOS Smart Cockpit," which is set for official deployment in April.

This cockpit deeply integrates Alibaba's cutting-edge AI technology and ecosystem resources, pioneering the "No Touch & No App" human-vehicle interaction model through AI Agents. It aims to eliminate the complexities of traditional touchscreen interfaces, reducing driver distraction and enhancing safety while delivering a revolutionary AI-powered cockpit experience.
Unlike traditional in-car apps or mini-programs, IM AIOS leverages the industry's largest on-device open speech large model and AI interactive agent, jointly developed by IM Motors and Banma. This enables seamless natural language interaction, linking multiple ecosystems and applications to transform isolated functions into integrated scenario-based services.
One standout feature, co-developed with Ele.me, is the industry-first "AI Takeout" function, allowing voice-activated food ordering with synchronized delivery upon arrival—catering to urban professionals' fast-paced lifestyles. The upcoming IM L6 vehicle model, which will be launched in April, will be the first sedan equipped with this feature.
Looking ahead, IM AIOS aims to expand its ecosystem across smart mobility, immersive entertainment, and mobile office applications.
