Shanghai, October 29 (Gasgoo.com) The all-new Roewe 750 1.8T MT, another heavyweight member of the SAIC Roewe family, was recently unveiled at the Nanjing motor show, said Jiefang Daily today. The Roewe 750 1.8T MT, which may help further enhance the sales of the Roewe 750 lineup, is now available for ordering at the brand’s dealerships.
The new 1.8T MT model, which features the manual transmission, enables more users to experience the driving pleasure of Roewe 750 based on the Rover 75. From inside out, although there are major differences, the British style from its predecessor is still obvious. However, SAIC claims 85% of the car is altered.
The drive-train is a 2.5L V6 petrol engine, which is based on the Rover KV6 engine. The 1.8T gas engine delivers around 150bhp. The standard 1.8L turbo version Roewe 750 is priced at 210,000 yuan ($20,800) in January 2008.
In addition to the 2.5L V6, the 2008 model offers a 1.8L turbo-charged four-cylinder gasoline engine. SAIC Roewe claims acceleration from still to 100km/h in 9.5 seconds for the 1.8T and 10.2 seconds for the V6, fuel efficiency of 6.0 and 6.4L/100mm respectively, and top speeds of 205km/hour for the four and 220km/h for the V6.
SAIC Roewe's model is built and engineered independently of the MG model owned by Nanjing Auto, now a subsidiary of China's auto giant SAIC.
