Shanghai, April 16 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co. Ltd. (DPCA) will unveil its a secret new car model at the upcoming Shanghai auto show next week, xinhuanet.com reported today. The joint venture will bring vehicle products of its two brand series -- Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen -- to the auto event.
The all-new Citroen model, codenamed BX 3, is jointly developed by DPCA and its French parent PSA Peugeot Citroen for Chinese customers. It features the cutting-edge sedan design philosophy, dynamics and trendiness of the French automaker. Next week at the Shanghai show, the BX 3 model will be shine on the Dongfeng, Dongfeng Citroen and Dongfeng Peugot stages to highlight the event.
DPCA has said it will bring eight Peugeot and Citroen car models to the Shanghai show, including the Citroen Elysee CNG, C2VTS, New Picasso, C-Triomphe, C-Quatre and the coming-soon BX3; meanwhile, the Peugeot 207 and Peugeot 208 will be displayed, with the Peugeot 207 hatchback to make its global debut.
Amid the global financial crisis, PSA Peugeot Citroen is looking to the Chinese market for growth and will also come to display its new cars at the Shanghai show, including the Citroen G-T concept, C3 Picasso, New C5, C6, Peugeot 207CC, Peugeot 207SW, Coupe 407, RC HYbrid4 and Peugeot RD.
Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen sales in March exceeded 20,000 units. In the first quarter this year, Dongfeng Peugeot sold 22,662 passenger cars, exceeding its quarterly sales goal.
