Shanghai, June 5 (Gasgoo.com) Coda Automotive, an all-new private company in the U.S., said on Wednesday that it would begin to sell a China made "Coda Sedan" in the California market by autumn 2010 for around $45,000, according to media reports.

The so called "Coda Sedan" was unveiled at a low-key media event in Southern California on Wednesday. According to a Reuters report, the company expects to sell about 3,000 "Coda Sedan" vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2010 that will be manufactured in China by state-owned Harbin Hafei Automotive.

Hafei isn't the only Chinese company Coda is contracting with. The battery pack of the sedan is being developed by battery giant Tianjin Lishen Battery Joint-Stock Co.

Coda CEO Kevin Czinger said to reporters at the event that the company expects its sedan to get at least four stars in the five-star U.S. safety rating, a computer-set top speed of 80 miles per hour and be able to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than 11 seconds.

He added that the company plans to eventually ramp up production to 20,000 units a year and sell the car across the U.S.
