Shanghai October 8 (Gasgoo.com) On the heels of its most successful performance in August 2010, Nissan Teana hit record sales again in September in China's mid- and high-end vehicle market, with more than 16,000 units sold, Sina.com reported Friday.
According to data released by Dongfeng Nissan, a 50-50 joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Group Co and Nissan Motor Co., the Teana car, equipped with VQ series engines and X-tronic CVT, sold 13,091 units in the Chinese market in August, ranking first in the segment.
Since its launch in China, Nissan Teana has been well received by the Chinese consumers. With total sales of 108,504 units in 2009, the Teana car easily broke through the all-time record Honda Accord and Toyota Camry had set.
There are always many mid- and high-end brand cars available in the market, the competition is thus extremely fierce in the segment. Teana's success, experts said, should mostly be attributed to its sense of worth.
Besides advantages in core technologies, Nissan has been striving continuously to achieve excellence in luxury and comfort in automobile design, because of which the Teana car has been named as "King of Comfort".
