Gasgoo.com (Shanghai November 14) - Geely sold a total of 48,609 vehicles in October, Economic Observer News reported today. The figure is 13 percent than the amount sold in September and represents year-on-year growth of 35 percent for the own brand manufacturer. Growth rates in October were the highest the manufacturer experienced since 2010.
Geely has sold a total of 372,547 vehicles from January to September, 13 percent more than it sold during the first ten months of 2011. The manufacturer has managed to complete 81 percent of its 460,000 sales target for the year.
Domestic orders accounted for 36,400 sales made in October. Monthly sales of its Gleagle GX7 (pictured) totaled 4,581 units, a record amount for the new SUV. Overall, domestic sales of the Emgrand, Gleagle and Englon totaled 15,352 units, 17,192 units and 16,065 units, respectively.
Furthermore, the manufacturer's overseas performance in October was especially strong, with 12,200 vehicles exported over the month. Geely has exported over 81,000 from January to October. Geely looks slated to be China's second largest automobile exporter this year after Chery.
