Shanghai, April 28 (Gasgoo.com) Citroën unveiled its C2 Kappa concept car, produced in collaboration with the high-profile Kappa sportswear brand at the 2008 Beijing auto show.

Alongside the C2 Kappa concept, Citroën has also presented its upgraded C-Elysée, the C-Cactus concept car in China for the very first time.

Citroën C2 Kappa concept

The C2 Kappa is based on the locally-sold C2 VTS. The show car stands out with its unique front end, front and rear bumpers, front and rear lights, rear spoiler and side-sill styling, and with its all-new exterior and interior design scheme. With the C2 Kappa, Citroën is pursuing its strategy of personalizing the C2, which races in the Chinese Rally Championship, and also testing the reaction of the market to new product proposals.

New Citroën Elysée

Citroën has made 300 improvements to the C-Elysée – all of which can be perceived by the customer – to re-attract existing customers and win new ones. The new model also features a Bluetooth audio system, 6-CD hard-disk jukebox and USB socket as options, while the boot lid has an automatic opening function.

Citroën C-Cactus concept

C-Cactus is an ecological car. It includes a significant proportion of recycled or recyclable materials and, like the plant it is named after, it is low on consumption. Weighing just 1,180 kg and featuring a hybrid HDi drivetrain, C-Cactus consumes 2.9 l/100 km for CO2 emissions of 78 g/km.

Its low production cost can be attributed to the use of new materials and to a rational design process using a smaller number of parts. The cabin is made up of just over 200 parts, i.e. almost half the number used by a conventional hatchback of identical size.
