Shanghai (Gasgoo)- According to a local media outlet, the Xpeng P7 will have an 700km-range version, which will make the model topple the 2019 Tesla Model S, whose longest range is up to 660km, to have the longest range among all battery-electric models in China.
Xpeng’s midsize P7 sedan is supposed to hit the market in April 2020 and to be delivered in May or June to compete with the BYD Han EV and the WM 7-Series sedan. Xpeng P7 has three variants at present—rear-wheel-drive (RWD) long-range version, RWD super-long-range (650+km) version and four-wheel-drive (4WD) high-performance version (550+km). The pre-sale price is 240,000 yuan (US$34,400), 270,000 yuan (US$38,700) and 370,000 yuan (US$53,000k) respectively.
Xpeng Motors announced previously the P7’s RWD super-long-range variant will come with a motor delivering up to 196kw and 390N·m while the 4WD high-performance version is to offer a peak torque of 655N·m. And the former can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 6.7s while the latter needs 4.3s.
The P7's advanced features include smart electric platform architecture with Nvidia Drive Xavier™, Nvidia’s advanced autonomous vehicle chip, Qualcomm’s top-line vehicle processor and Xpilot 3.0 advanced driver assist system, upgradable to Xpilot 4.0 (photo source: Xpeng Motors).
