Shanghai (Gasgoo)- At the Auto Shanghai 2021, WM Motor showcased all of its key models, including the EX5-Z and the concept model of its first all-electric sedan's mass-production-ready version. However, the biggest move was still the announcement of starting the delivery of the W6, the company's third production model hitting the market on April 16.

The startup said the W6 is the first mass-produced model in China with Level 4 driverless capability in China, and also the country's first vehicle to apply SOA (service-oriented architecture).
The company noted it received over 6,000 orders of the W6 only 50 hours after the vehicle going on sale.

The W6 is armed with Baidu's AVP (automated valet parking) solution. According to the startup, the AVP can be classified into HAVP (Home-AVP) and PAVP (Public-AVP) based on usage scenarios. The HAVP is designed for the scenarios with relatively fixed parking routes, such as the parking spots at home or office. Before the first-time use, a driver needs to demonstrate a complete parking process by himself, allowing sensors, including 5 77GHz millimeter-wave radars, 7 cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, to record relevant data and upload them to the cloud server. Next time he can have his car parked at the right spot via a mobile phone. In addition, the PAVP enables a car to be parked automatically in public places without fixed routes.
The W6 also adopts a fire new electrical/electronic architecture (EEA), the automotive-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips using 7nm process technology, 5G base band and the autonomous driving domain controller the automaker develops in-house.

The WM W6 is also China's first “user-defined” mass-produced model, said the EV manufacturer. Based on the SOA technology, users can program multiple software and hardware modules, which embrace driver assistance system, car windows, seats, air conditioner, driving modes, music, and ambience lamps, via the WM Motor Zhixing app.
