JiDU Auto was jointly founded by China's tech giant Baidu and major automaker Geely on March 2nd, aiming to create next-generation intelligent vehicles based on Geely's world-leading battery-electric sustainable experience architecture.

The joint venture's CEO revealed at the time, JiDU planned to invest $7.7 billion in the intelligent vehicle-making sector, and a near-production model should be unveiled as soon as the next April.

The company is fast-tracking its automaking progress. On the 128th day since establishment, it has finished modeling design and entered the engineering development phase. JiDU completed the wind tunnel test of its first vehicle's clay model on the 180th day. Then comes the announcement of initiating intelligent software development today, on the 207th day since establishment.
