AutoX deems its 1,000-vehicle fleet expansion a “groundbreaking moment”, as the largest RoboTaxi fleet volume used to be in the hundreds throughout the industry. AutoX successfully took a leap forward in scaled commercialization.
In the meantime, AutoX opened up a new RoboTaxi operations center in San Francisco, further expanding its autonomous vehicle testing capacity in the US. AutoX’s vehicles are known for their ability to navigate swiftly through complex and chaotic traffic conditions. As one of the densest megapolis, San Francisco is a perfect spot to test out the company’s training and experience.
Since 2016, AutoX has been testing its RoboTaxis in the greater San Jose area. Currently, the company operates and tests RoboTaxi fleets in San Francisco, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing.
Additionally, in January 2022, AutoX revealed its Shanghai-based production facility dedicated to its Gen5 L4 fully driverless RoboTaxis, as the first production line in the industry. The company said that the RoboTaxi assembly line has been in full operation.
