The new facility will play an important role in connecting Norway to NIO's future charging and battery swapping network in Europe, said the automaker.
On May 6, 2021, NIO formally announced its market entry into Norway, signaling the beginning of its overseas offensive. User delivery of the NIO ES8s began in the country on September 30 last year.
The first NIO House in Norway, which is located in the country's capital Oslo, opened to the public on October 1, 2021.
The company celebrated the launch of its first battery swap station in Norway in January this year, with the BaaS (Battery as a Service) model coming along as well.
NIO plans to enter more European countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark, with its vehicles and services this year.
In China, the EV manufacturer has deployed over 1,060 battery swap stations and 962 supercharging stations as of August 17, according to NIO’s update on its official website.
