Shanghai (Gasgoo)- By the end of August 2022, there had been 4.315 million charging piles deployed across China, up 105% compared to the cumulative volume reached by the same period of last year, according to the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA).

For the first eight months of 2022, around 1.698 million charging piles (+300.5% YoY) were newly built in the country, including 476,000 public piles (+232.9% YoY) and 1.221 million private ones (+540.5% YoY).

Last month, around 48,000 public charging piles were newly deployed in China, representing a 64.8% year-on-year leap. 

As of Aug. 2022, the volume of public charging piles in China had added up to 1.623 million units, including 702,000 DC piles, 921,000 AC piles, and 224 DC-AC integrated charging piles, the EVCIPA reported after summarizing the data provided by members of the alliance.

There were around 53,000 public charging piles built per month on average within a year ended Aug. 2022.

In terms of the charging station volume by Aug. 2022, the top 10 provinces or direct-administered municipalities remained the same as that of the previous month. Guangdong held a significant lead by building 18,681 stations across the province, while both Jiangsu and Zhejiang have over 7,000 charging stations constructed.

Regarding the amount of charging stations by Aug. 2022, the top three operators were still TELD, State Grid, and Star Charge. Compared to the rankings of the previous month, YKC moved up one spot to the fourth, while EV Power dropped to the fifth.

As of Aug. 2022, China had owned a total of 1,685 battery swap stations, 60 of which were newly built last month.

Regarding the volume of battery swap stations as of August, the top five provinces or direct-administered municipalities in China accounted for 56% of the country's total volume.
