Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. ("Changan Automobile") reported an annual sales volume of 2,553,052 vehicles in 2023, representing an 8.82% rise year-on-year, according to the company’s announcement on January 9.
In December 2023 alone, Changan Automobile sold 215,089 vehicles, which dipped 15.91% from that of a year ago. Of the vehicles sold last month, 59,366 units were new energy vehicle (NEVs) under the company’s wholly-owned brands, indicating a 31.27% surge year-over-year.
Throughout last year, 2,097,794 vehicles sold by Changan Automobile were under the automaker’s wholly-owned brands, growing 11.91% compared to the same period last year. In the meantime, the company’s wholly-owned brands also boasted a 39.23% year-on-year spike in yearly overseas sales, which came in at 236,380 vehicles.

As to the annual performance of Changan Automobile’s self-owned NEV brands, a 74.77% year-on-year soar was achieved with a total of 474,045 vehicles sold.
On the other hand, among Changan Automobile’s two joint venture brands, Changan Ford reported December sales volume of 28,084 vehicles (+47.16% YoY), resulting in an annual volume of 233,122 vehicles (-7.13% YoY) in 2023. Meanwhile, Changan Mazda sold 11,028 vehicles (+73.07% YoY) last month, which added up to a yearly sales volume of 88,662 vehicles (-14.77% YoY).
