This project is Dongguan's first autonomous driving and new energy mechanized sanitation initiative and the city's first commercial Level 4 autonomous road cleaning project. It also represents the world's first large-scale application of WeRide's Robosweeper S1 autonomous sanitation vehicle.
The Dongguan Binhaiwan autonomous sanitation project covers nine urban roads with complex conditions. The fleet, composed of WeRide's Robosweeper S1 and Robosweeper S6 vehicles, will operate autonomously in key areas, including motorways, non-motorized vehicle lanes, sidewalks, safety islands, and bridge surfaces, covering over 860,000 square meters.
As a unique cooperation platform in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Binhaiwan New District was approved as Dongguan's pilot demonstration area for intelligent connected vehicle road testing and demonstration applications in 2023. With over 25 kilometers of smart roads, the district is paving the way for the rapid integration and large-scale commercial application of autonomous driving technology.

WeRide's Robosweeper is China's first factory-installed mass-produced autonomous sanitation vehicle, equipped with WeRide's proprietary autonomous driving software and hardware systems. It provides high-quality and efficient services such as sweeping, dust reduction, and washing. The Robosweeper S1, the world's first Level 4 autonomous sanitation device for open roads, can cover over 120,000 square meters on a single charge and operates in various scenarios.
