Geely Automobile posts 46% YoY surge in May 2025 sales as NEV momentum continues
Beijing (Gasgoo) – Geely Automobile Holdings Limited ("Geely Automobile") reported total vehicle sales of 235,208 units in May 2025, reflecting a robust 46% year-on-year increase, according to the company's announcement earlier this month.
New energy vehicles (NEVs) remained a key driver of Geely's growth, with monthly sales hitting 138,021 units in May, soaring 135% compared to the same month last year. The battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales surged 178% year-on-year to 95,040 units, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sales shot up 76% to 42,981 units.
In the January-May period, Geely's NEV sales totaled 602,784 units, marking a 137% year-on-year spike and accounting for 51% of the group's total sales.

By brand, the Geely marque sold 188,670 vehicles in May, representing a 57% spike from the prior year. Within this, the Galaxy NEV-dedicated brand stood out with 101,845 units sold—a massive 273% hike year-on-year. As of today, Galaxy's cumulative sales have exceeded one million units, making it the fastest new energy vehicle brand to surpass the one-million-unit milestone.
Lynk & Co posted monthly sales of 27,630 units, up 27% year-on-year. Of these, the brand's NEV lineup contributed 17,268 units, marking a 39% increase and accounting for 63% of the brand's total sales.
Geely's premium NEV brand Zeekr delivered 18,908 units in May, achieving a modest 2% year-on-year uptick.The newly launched Zeekr 007GT contributed significantly, with over 10,000 units delivered in its first month on the market.
Overseas performance remained a weak spot in May, with the export volume declining 20% year-on-year to 30,017 units.
In May, the Lynk & Co brand officially entered the Egyptian and Mexican markets, while the Zeekr 7X made its debut in Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden, with deliveries already underway.
Cumulatively, Geely Automobile sold 1,173,144 vehicles in the first five months of 2025, a 49% leap compared to the same period in 2024.
