Beijing (Gasgoo)- SAIC Motor announced on Sept. 1 that its vehicle sales in August 2025 surged 41.04% year on year to 363,371 units (wholesale), marking the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year growth. In the eight months of this year, the company's cumulative sales stood at 2,753,493 vehicles, up 17.87% from a year earlier.
As for main subsidiaries, in August, SAIC MOTOR Passenger Vehicle sold 74,646 units (+78.46% YoY), while SAIC-GM-Wuling contributed 125,228 units (+49.08% YoY).
Sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 129,771 units last month, surging 49.89% year on year, with its year-to-date NEV sales leaping 44.39% from the year-ago period to 893,328 units.
Individually, IM Motors, the premium electric vehicle brand SAIC Motor co-owned with Alibaba Group and Zhangjiang High-Tech, delivered 6,569 vehicles (+42.9% YoY). SAIC MOTOR Passenger Vehicle sold around 22,000 NEVs (+208.6% YoY). SAIC Maxus moved over 4,600 NEVs (+25.1% YoY). SAIC-GM sold more than 10,000 NEVs (+87.5% YoY), and SAIC-GM-Wuling recorded NEV sales of roughly 74,000 units (+52.8% YoY).

Notably, SAIC Motor's overseas sales reached 88,289 units in August (including export volume and sales created by its overseas bases), up 10.48% year on year. For the first eight months of 2025, the automaker reported 664,414 vehicles for its overseas markets, representing a 2.29% increase from the previous year.
