Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 23, Geely's Galaxy brand announced that cumulative sales of its E5 all-electric SUV have surpassed 230,000 units, underscoring the model's strong traction in China's highly competitive NEV market.

Since hitting the market in early August 2024, the Galaxy E5 has remained a consistent high-volume seller, clearing the 150,000-unit mark within just 10 months. The momentum continued with the launch of the 2026 model year update on July 24, when Geely Galaxy rolled out five variants priced between 109,800 yuan and 145,800 yuan.

Visually, the 2026 refresh focuses on expanding personalization options rather than altering the core design. Two new exterior colors—Wanlin Green and Liguang Blue—have been added to the palette, joining six existing finishes for a total of eight choices. The vehicle's dimensions remain unchanged, measuring 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width and 1,670 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase.

Inside, the 2026 Galaxy E5 continues its minimalist approach. The cockpit features a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, while most physical buttons have been removed in favor of a cleaner layout. The system runs on the Flyme Auto platform and is powered by the SE1000 in-vehicle chipset.

On the software side, the Galaxy Flyme Auto system has received a suite of upgrades aimed at everyday usability. New features such as "green wave" traffic coordination, a dedicated car wash mode, and customizable lock confirmation sounds are designed to streamline daily driving scenarios. Audio performance has also been elevated, with a new Flyme Sound section on QQ Music working in tandem with a 16-speaker setup and a 1,000-watt independent amplifier to deliver a surround sound experience positioned at a premium level.

Powertrain specifications remain anchored by a 160 kW electric motor, but the 2026 update brings a notable boost in battery capacity and driving range. Under the CLTC cycle, range figures now extend to 530 km and 610 km, depending on the variant. The longer-range version gains an additional 8 kWh of battery capacity, reaching 68.22 kWh, which not only extends driving distance but also adds 6.5 kWh of external power output capability. Chassis tuning has also been refined, with a reported 20 percent improvement in damping performance, translating into a more composed and comfortable ride.
