Cummins Wuhan new factory to be put in operation '08

Cummins 13rd production base in China, Cummins Fuel System Company laid foundation recently in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, and it is planed to start production in early 2008.

According to Xiong Zhenhong, general manager of Wuhan Cummins Fuel System Company, the factory total investment is 100 million U.S. dollars, producing fuel pumps, CELECT injectors and other diesel engine fuel system products, which are mainly for the domestic market.

This is the first time for Cummins Company to set up fuel system production plants outside North America, the first two are in Indiana, Texas in United States and Juarez in Mexico.

Wuhan factory products will be supplied to Dongfeng Cummins engines. Cummins (China) turnover has been over 10 billion dollars for the third consecutive year ever since 2004; China has become the world's fastest growing oversea market for Cummins.
