Zhu Yanfeng believed that upon the arrival of the era of NEVs, all companies had to be down-to-earth and steady when trying to stand out. The influences of the creation need to be reflected in corporate performance and social responsibilities. Enterprises should keep a good grip on maintaining the balance of pushing new technology and actual market demands, not to be a “flash mob enterprise”.

Currently, NEVs sales accounted for over 10% of the Chinese auto market, with 35% from domestic brands. The chairman noted that the future flourishing development of the new energy industry still cannot go without the policy and regulations from the government yet.

According to Zhu Yanfeng, Dongfeng Group set a seperate annual sales target of 1 million vehicles by 2025 for commercial vehicles, self-owned passenger vehicles, and new energy vehicles. By that time, the group plans to realize 100% electrification of its Voyah and Fengshen brands. In addition, the group will bring forward a new “M platform”, creating a new customized new energy brand.
