Shanghai (Gasgoo)- By the end of Oct. 2021, there were 2.253 million charging piles across China, up 50.4% from the same period of last year, according to the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA).

For the first ten months this year, a total of 572,000 charging piles (+105.4%) were newly built in China, including 255,000 public piles (+69.8% YoY) and 317,000 private ones (+147% YoY).

The cumulative number of public charging piles in the country amounted to 1.062 million by the end of Oct. 2021, including 436,000 DC piles, 626,000 AC piles, and 406 DC-AC integrated charging piles, the EVCIPA said after compiling the data reported by members of the alliance.

There were around 33,000 public charging poles newly deployed per month on average between Nov. 2020 and Oct. 2021.

As of Oct. 2021, a total of 70,500 charging stations have been deployed in China, rising from 69,400 launched by the end of Sept. In terms of the volume of charging stations, the top five provinces or direct-administered municipalities were Guangdong (11,206), Jiangsu (6,631), Zhejiang (5,676), Beijing (5,663), and Shanghai (5,590). Compared to September, Zhejiang surpassed Beijing to the third place.

There were 10 operators in China with over 1,000 charging stations by the end of Oct. The top three companies were TELD (16,363), State Grid (16,036), and Star Charge (8,687).

As of Oct., China had a total of 1,086 battery swap stations, 196 of which were newly built last month. By the volume of battery swap stations, the top three provinces in China (or direct-administered municipalities) were Beijing (237), Guangdong (151) and Zhejiang (103).

The top three battery swap station operators in China were still NIO (609), Aulton (370), and Hangzhou First Technology (107) in terms of the station number by October.
