NIO ET7 to come standard with Dolby Atmos sound tech

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- NIO announced on Nov. 16 the cooperation it formed with Dolby Laboratories (Dolby), a leader in immersive entertainment experiences. Through the partnership, Dolby Atmos, a surround sound technology developed by Dolby, will be included on the standard equipment list of all NIO ET7s.

“Dolby Atmos is a completely new way to create and experience music that delivers artistic expression at its fullest capacity, forging a deeper connection between artists and their fans,” said NIO.

According to the EV startup, the ET7’s audio system comes standard with 23 speakers and a total output of 1000W. The four primary channels use a 3-way speaker array which features dedicated tweeter, mid-tone and bass driver, a subwoofer plus four overhead speakers. By virtue of advanced active tuning algorithm and Dolby Atmos’ outstanding clarity, the ET7 will offer immersive listing experience beyond users’ expectation.

“NIO aims to keep improving the automobiles’ value in addition to driving and riding, and creating surprises for uses through the integration of technical advancement and emotion experience,” said Mark Zhou, NIO’s Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Product Committee. “The cooperation with Dolby is conducive to strengthening the emotional bonds between users and the music they like, and will make both parties co-boost the upgrade of auto cockpit experience”, he added.

The ET7 has been available for pre-order through the NIO App, and it is expected for delivery in the first quarter of 2022.
