Focusing on the application of AI tech and physical models in the R&D of new energy materials, the joint lab will develop next-generation molecular simulation technology, as well as cross-scale R&D models.

In addition, the lab will also apply both AI tech and physical models to the R&D of energy devices, in a bid to improve rational design of energy facilities.

CATL has advanced into a brand new phase in the exploration of cutting-edge new energy technologies. In June 2020, the company broke ground on the 21C Lab that specializes in the innovation of energy-storage material chemical system, and the design, engineering and application scenarios of energy-storage system.

DP Technology is a Beijing-based developer of micro-scale industrial design platform that integrates AI technologies and molecular simulation algorithms, enabling users in biology, materials, and chemistry fields to solve research challenges.

The new cooperation is expected to help CATL rapidly iterate new energy material systems and discover more novel materials based on DP Technology’s micro-scale industrial design platform.
