Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicles Group (“GCV”), the commercial vehicle (“CV”) business unit of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, is considering a public listing as an independent unit and is planning to introduce external investors, according to a local media outlet.

After being reached for a comment by the media channel, an inside person at GCV said there has no information that could be disclosed now.

GCV has three brands at present, namely Farizon Auto, Hanma Technology, and Ou Ling Auto. Founded in 2016, Farizon Auto was the first CV brand in China to focus on the development of new energy vehicles. It works on developing urban CVs based on the e-GAPF power systems, and long-ranged CVs powered by clean methanol fuel. The company is dedicated to offering a full range of new energy CVs including buses, lights trucks, heavy trucks, and vans. Besides, Farizon Auto has already formed three car-building architectures, namely, the GLA, the GHA, and the GMA.

In November 2021, Farizon Auto drew the attention of many industry insiders by unveiling its next-generation smart new energy semi-truck, the Hometruck, with production and first deliveries planned for early 2024. The automaker said the model’s architecture can carry a number of powertrain options including range extender, methanol hybrid and pure electric with battery swapping option.

Hanma Technology was established in 1970 and for the past half-century has been developing heavy-duty vehicle chassis, powertrains, commercial vehicle parts, heavy specialized vehicles, new energy commercial vehicles, passenger cars, and other vehicles. In 2020, GCV acquired 15.24% stake in Hanma Technology to become the latter's controlling shareholder and raise the shareholding ratio to 28.01% in May 2021.

Ou Ling Auto is a new sub-brand under GCV based in Zibo, Shangdong. It offers two product series, light duty trucks and specially modified vehicles.
