WWF joins NIO’s Clean Park initiative as co-initiator

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 22, the 53rd Earth Day, NIO formed a strategic partnership with WWF (World Wildlife Fund), who will serve as one of the initiators of NIO's “Clean Parks” ecosystem co-construction initiative, the startup announced via its WeChat account.

Under the cooperation, NIO and WWF will make joint efforts to promote the building of a clean and low-carbon energy self-circulation system for the protected areas in China and even the whole world, and boost the sustainable development of the global ecosystem.

NIO announced the “Clean Parks” initiative on December 18, 2021 to support more nature reserves across the world in adopting smart EVs, constructing clean energy infrastructure, and formulating clean and low carbon energy circulation to protect the authenticity and integrity of ecosystems.

Through the newly-formed partnership, WWF will team up with Chinese and international authoritative research institutions to support the eco-friendly development of national-level parks and natural reserves, and explore the solutions for protecting biodiversity of the nature. Notably, the solutions will be one of the scientific guidance documents for the implementation of the "Clean Park" initiative.

As for NIO, it will deeply take part in the WWF-lead protection projects for national parks and protected areas. The startup will leverage its advantages in the usage of clean and renewable energy to support protected areas in using smart EVs and building clean energy-powered infrastructures.

Besides, both parties will co-work on the publicity of the clean-energy-enabled travelling and the biodiversity protection, so as to help the public form a better consciousness of environmental protection.
