GCL-ET, Tongsheng Industrial Investment team up on mobile digital energy projects

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GCL Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (“GCL-ET”), a Chinese operator of clean energy projects, on May 16 signed an agreement with Sichuan Tongsheng Industrial Investment Co., Ltd. (“Tongsheng”) to jointly boost the digital economy and auto electrification development for Sichuan province, according to a post on the WeChat account of GCL (Group) Holdings Co., Ltd., the parent company of GCL-ET.

Under the agreement, both parties will cooperate on the promotion of new energy vehicle (NEV) application, the investment in EV charging and battery swapping stations, the integration of commodity transportation and trade, as well as the “six-in-one” mobile digital energy innovation platform that integrates vehicles, stations, users, transportation, trade, and safety involved in intelligent platform management services.

The partnership will see both parties co-work on deploying and operating over 8,000 NEVs in five years.

Besides, the duo will jointly carry out a new-type energy storage station demonstration project that features the integration of power supply, grid, load, and storage, as part of the endeavors to bolster the industrialization of advanced new-type energy storage technologies in Sichuan province.

In April this year, the Sichuan provincial government issued an action plan, which says all vehicles newly deployed from 2022 should be NEVs in principle (excluding some special regions). In addition, eligible cities or prefectures will be encouraged to explore NEV battery swapping model, and apply battery-swappable vehicles in such public service fields as bus, taxi, city logistics, engineering, sanitation, ports, and diggings first.

GCL-ET is mainly engaged in green energy operation, mobile energy operation and comprehensive energy services.
