SAIC Audi’s Q5 e-tron starts at 376,500 yuan
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The Audi Q5 e-tron, the second production model under the SAIC-Audi project, features a formal price range of 376,500-479,500 yuan ($55,420-70,585) with five trim levels offered, the automaker announced on May 17.
As SAIC Audi's first luxury all-electric SUV, the Q5 e-tron is the mass production version of the Audi Concept Shanghai concept car shown at the Auto Shanghai 2021. It is built on VW Group's MEB electric vehicle platform, which also provides the underpinnings for the Audi Q4 e-tron and Volkswagen's ID. series.

Exterior-wise, the Q5 e-tron features a massive closed-off grille coupled with a pair of aggressive headlights, which is usually seen on the e-tron family's members.
The Q5 e-tron has a conventional SUV side profile like the Q4 e-tron. The roofline slants down gently, ensuring the dynamic appearance doesn’t significantly affect the headroom.
The e-tron Q5 measures 4,876mm long, 1,860mm wide, and 1,675mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,965mm. The generous length allows for a folding third row of seats in the back, giving this car six-/seven-seater arrangements.
At the rear, the new model delivers a fashionable look thanks to a wide V-shaped license plate bracket, through-the-round taillights, and an e-tron logo embossed on the skid plate.
The Q5 e-tron is offered in two exterior options, which incline to luxury and sports styling respectively.

Such amenities as a new-generation Audi steering wheel with flattened top and bottom, a dashboard with sharp lines, angular AC vents on the sides of the steering wheel, a hexagonal binnacle for the operating display, a wide driver-side-tilted touchscreen, and the triangular door handle section are installed in the cockpit.
Moreover, the automaker said the car's in-vehicle system can be connected to wearable devices, allowing users to remotely open car doors, turn on the air-conditioning system, and check the remaining range. All variants of the model come standard with an AR-HUD and L2+ driver assistant system, which is capable of such functions as full-speed-domain adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane departure warning, as well as parking assist.
The Q5 e-tron is powered by an 83.4kWh ternary-lithium battery pack. The model offers two power system solutions. The rear-wheel-drive 40 carries an electric motor that is good for 150kW and 310 N·m, and has a CLTC-rated range of 560km. The 50 quattro features a dual-motor and all-wheel-drive setup, producing 225kW and 460 N·m, with a 520-km CLTC range.
