NIO completes building of expressway battery swapping network
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Today, NIO announced it has completed the building of its battery swapping network for expressways with a total of 205 battery swapping stations so far deployed to cover over 20,000-km expressways.
The company announced on Sept. 21, 2021 it planned to construct a “five vertical + seven horizontal expressways + four city clusters” battery swapping network.

The network encompasses five north-south expressways (G1 Jingha, G2 Jinghu, G4 Jinggang'ao, G5 Jingkun, and G15 Shenhai), three east-west expressways (G30 Lianhuo, G50 Huyu, and G60 Hukun), as well as four city clusters (the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Chengdu-Chongqing dual-city region, according to NIO.
The completion of the G15 Shenhai Expressway battery swapping network marked the milestone of the entire network.
To be specific, there are 98 and 38 NIO battery swapping stations located along the 5 north-south expressways and the 3 east-west expressways respectively, and a total of 119 stations deployed in the four city clusters.
