To be specific, both parties will proactively boost the R&D and application of battery swapping technologies. Contemporary Amperex Energy Service Technology Ltd. (“CAES”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL, will use its "Modular Battery Swap Solution" to dispel consumers’ misgivings about EV range, power replenishment facilitation, and EV purchase cost, so as to provide its convenient and reliable mobile energy supply solutions and services to users in Chengdu.
As for R&D, CATL plans to build its Southwest China operation headquarters and a R&D center in Chengdu city, where it can leverage its technical advantages in battery manufacturing, battery swapping, zero-carbon emission, energy storage, etc. to develop innovative technologies, products, and scenarios focusing on such areas as new energy resource utilization, power batteries, new type of energy storage technologies, and zero-carbon emission transportation.
Moreover, the duo will work on building the Changan Vein Industrial Park into a zero-carbon demonstration park, and promote this construction and operation model nationwide.
