Dongfeng Motor launches Hubei’s first power battery safety storage base
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 9, Dongfeng Motor's technology center started the usage of its power battery storage boxes, indicating the launch of the first power battery safety storage base in China's Hubei province.
The application of those storage boxes will prevent power batteries from being damaged by high temperature and facilitate battery management, so as to improve new energy vehicles' quality, the company said.

Aside from the breakthrough in battery storage, Dongfeng Motor also revealed its latest achievements in the application of solid-state power batteries.
The automaker said it regarded solid-state battery as the next-generation power battery by virtue of its high specific energy, high safety, and easy-to-be-recycle traits.
Through 3 years of technology accumulations, Dongfeng Motor has fulfilled the development of its solid-state battery, solid-state battery system, and the vehicle model equipped with such batteries. It has already put the solid-state-battery-powered vehicles into pilot operations in Jiangxi, Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces.
The HK-listed Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (“Dongfeng Motor Group”) announced this week it produced and sold 1,489,790 and 1,472,588 vehicles in the first seven months of 2022, representing a year-on-year decline of 7.13% and 8.92%, respectively.
Notably, the group's Jan.-Jul. new energy vehicle (“NEV”) output and sales surged 182.3% and 169.1% from a year ago to 166,065 units and 159,609 units, respectively.
