Shanghai (Gasgoo)- HiPhi, the luxury electric vehicle brand owned by Chinese startup Human Horizons, announced on Tuesday its first energy-storage and supercharging station would start operation in October this year in Yancheng city, Jiangsu province.

According to the brand's WeChat post, the station is equipped with HiPhi's 480kW (GB) and 570kW (Chaoji) liquid-cooled supercharging piles, offering vehicles a range of 100 kilometers through a 3-minute charging session.

Besides, this kind of station also contains an energy storage system and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) charging/discharging facilities. Electricity can be stored by energy storage batteries in the valley period of electricity prices, and then be released to charging piles for daily EV charging, so as to reduce pressure on the power grid.

The automaker said it would explore the combination of photovoltaic power generation and its energy-storage supercharging system to supply new energy vehicles with green energy.

While the new station is coming online, HiPhi's smart energy management system will also become operational to synergize the works of the energy storage system, supercharging piles, and V2G facilities.

HiPhi currently has only one production model, the HiPhi X, for sale. In July, there were 526 HiPhi X delivered in China, resulting in a cumulative volume of over 7,000 units since the model hit the market. The second model, the HiPhi Z, is about to go on sale on August 26 at the Chengdu Motor Show.
