FAW Hongqi unveils three new energy concept models

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Hongqi, the premium car brand of FAW Group, on Sept. 5 held a virtual ceremony where three head-turning new energy vehicle (NEV) concept models were unveiled.

The three concept models are called the new Hongqi Sedan EV, the new Hongqi SUV EV, and the new Hongqi E-LS, respectively. The automaker said the launch of these concepts demonstrated Hongqi's resolution to head for the era of automobile intelligence and electrification.

To be specific, the new Hongqi Sedan EV is the first B-segment new energy sedan to ride on Hongqi's FMEs platform. It will feature a super-long range of over 1,000km, and support both charging and battery swapping. The company also said the model can zip from 0-100km/h in only 3 minutes and can perform all-weather high-level autonomous driving operations in multiple scenarios.

The new Hongqi SUV EV concept is a B-segment SUV built on the FMEs platform as well. Hongqi noted the model can offer an exceptional off-road driving experience by virtue of such core technologies as the active air suspension, the intelligent four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel steering technologies.

The new Hongqing E-LS is a fresh new energy flagship SUV riding on Hongqi's new L platform.

The aforesaid FMEs is the super electric intelligent complete vehicle platform developed under Hongqi's R.Flag technology development strategy. The automaker noted at the launch event that the platform boasts 115 core technologies and fully enjoys the R&D resources Hongqi has deployed worldwide. It aims to build FMEs into a "green, intelligent, safe, variable, and evolvable" vehicle architecture that will offer exclusive driving and seating experience and can satisfy the development, manufacturing, and usage demands of Hongqi's most vehicle models.
