SGMW’s convertible Hongguang MINIEV hits market, priced at 99,900 yuan
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW"), General Motors' joint venture with Chinese partners SAIC Motor and Guangxi Automobile Group, put the convertible version of its hotter-selling all-electric model, the Hongguang MINIEV, onto the market on Sept. 25.
The automaker said the new product is China's first full-electric convertible model, which is priced at 99,900 yuan ($13,960).

The front end of the Hongguang MINIEV convertible still adopts a closed-off grille. The C-shaped LED daytime running lights embedded into the headlight cluster make the front more recognizable.

The new model features a convertible soft-top canopy that can be fully stored into the back. Behind the seats are roll bars for extra protection. The roof comes with two color options—red and black.
The Hongguang MINIEV convertible version measures 3,059mm long, 1,521mm wide, and 1,614mm tall, with a wheelbase spanning 2,010mm.

The interior keeps a spiffy design and offers two color solutions—red/black and white/black. The cockpit comes with such amenities as a liquid crystal instrumental panel, hill-start assist control, and a backup camera display. Besides, users can monitor the vehicle status via the LING Club APP, which also offers the functions like remote car search, intelligent car door locking/unlocking, and scheduled appointment.
As for the power performance, the new convertible model carries an electric motor at the front axle that is good for up to 30kW and 110 N·m. With a 26.5kWh LFP ternary-lithium battery pack, it features a range of 280km. Moreover, the new model is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.
