Guangzhou's authorities expects to basically form an orderly EV charging & battery swapping system with fast and slow charging facilities evenly deployed, and build itself into a “capital of supercharging” by 2024. Besides, around 1,000 residential complexes equipped with miniwatt and slow-charging piles are planned to be under unified construction and management by that year.
As part of efforts to achieve the aforesaid targets, Guangzhou will shore up the construction of comprehensive power replenishment stations that integrate photovoltaic, energy storage, EV charging, battery swapping, etc.
Moreover, the megacity will support charging pile and automobile companies in developing supercharging and battery swapping technologies, and accelerating the popularization of EV models equipped with supercharging technologies or replaceable batteries.
