Tesla reduces lead-time of some Model 3, Model Y versions in China
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Tesla once again adjusted the lead-time of its main products in China to further stabilize its delivery space in the world’s largest auto market.
The information updated on Tesla China's official website this week shows that the expected lead-time of the Model Y RWD has been changed to 1-5 weeks from the previous 1-4 weeks, while the wait time has been reduced to 1-5 weeks from 4-8 weeks for the Model 3 RWD/Performance and the Model Y Performance/Long Range.

Prior to the latest adjustment, Tesla China slashed the delivery time of the Model Y RWD to 1-4 weeks from 12-16 weeks in August this year.
An industrial analyst said the slight extension of the Model Y RWD's delivery time makes sense as the model has become a major sales contributor to Tesla and demands higher production capacity. Besides, evening the lead-time of the Model 3 RWD/Performance and the Model Y Performance/Long Range up will be conducive to Tesla's overall sales growth.
Tesla's CEO Elon Musk tweeted in early Oct. that the company was trying to smooth out its "crazy end of quarter delivery wave to reduce expedite costs and relieve stress on Tesla team", aiming for steadier deliveries intra-quarter.
