Changan Automobile releases ‘Force’ range extension technology brand

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 30, Chinese auto group Changan Automobile, introduced to the public its new technology brand dubbed Force.

Force is consisted of two parts, namely "Force intelligent range extension" and "Force super integrated electric drive", which can achieve an ultra-long combined range of 1,200km. Currently, the Force technology has been deployed on Changan Automobile’s SL03 sedan, which hit the market in July this year. In addition, the technology will also be installed onto the automaker’s second Shenlan-branded production model, which will be an SUV debuting in 2023. 

Regarding the Force power system, the Force intelligent range extender is Changan Automobile's first proprietary sedan-used range extender system to achieve mass production. The efficient and all-around range extender takes up a small space, while outputs a large power, allowing a maximum generator efficiency of 96%. Under the CLTC working condition, it generates about 3.3 kWh of power per 1 liter of fuel.

On the other hand, the Force super integrated electric drive system offers an efficiency of up to 95%. It is highly integrated with an electric motor, motor controller, reducer, charger, DCDC, DCAC, and a high-voltage junction box. Compared with the conventional three-in-one electric drive system, Changan Automobile’s latest creation is 10% lighter and 5% smaller, while churning out 4.9% higher the efficiency and 37% more power density. 

At the same time, it also adopts the industry's first microkernel high-frequency pulse heating technology. Under the extreme environment of -30℃, the technology can heat up the battery temperature by 4℃ per minute, and increase the vehicle power performance by 50%, as well as shorten the vehicle charging time by 15%.
