China deploys 4.949 million EV charging piles by Nov. 2022

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- By the end of Nov. 2022, there had been 4.949 million charging piles deployed across China, up 107.5% compared to the cumulative volume reached by the same period of last year, according to the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA).

For the first eleven months of 2022, around 2.332 million charging piles (+231.2% YoY) were newly built in the country, including 584,000 public piles (+105.4% YoY) and 1.747 million private ones (+316.5% YoY).

Last month, around 51,000 public charging piles were newly deployed in China, representing a 58.6% year-on-year leap.

As of Nov. 2022, the volume of public charging piles in China had added up to 1.731 million units, including 732,000 DC piles and 999,000 AC piles, the EVCIPA reported after summarizing the data provided by members of the alliance.

There were around 53,000 public charging piles built per month on average within a year ended Nov. 2022.

In terms of the charging station volume by Nov. 2022, the top 10 provinces or direct-administered municipalities hold a total of 71,614 stations. Guangdong took a significant lead by building over 19,000 charging stations across the province, while both Jiangsu and Zhejiang had over 8,000 stations deployed.

Regarding the amount of charging stations by Nov. 2022, the rankings of the top 10 operators were the same as that of the previous month. TELD ranked highest as the only operator to own over 20,000 charging stations.

As of Nov. 2022, China had deployed a total of 1,902 battery swap stations, 75 of which were newly built last month.

Regarding the volume of battery swap stations as of Nov., the top five provinces or direct-administered municipalities in China accounted for 54.73% of the country's total volume.
