Aulton joins hands with Longtuteng to co-build battery swap stations in Hainan province

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Aulton New Energy Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. ("Aulton"), a leading Chinese battery swap facility operator, announced via its WeChat account that it inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Longtuteng (Hainan) Investment Management Co., Ltd. ("Longtuteng" is Chinese pinyin) in early Dec. to build a joint venture in a bid to boost the development of the battery swapping industry in Hainan province.

Through the joint venture, which is temporarily dubbed Hainan Aulton New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. ("Hainan Aulton"), the two parties will carry out cooperation in the construction of battery swapping stations, battery swap service for new energy vehicles (NEVs), and other services. Under their initial plan, the duo will jointly build over 40 battery swap stations in Hainan province, which are capable of serving over 20,000 NEVs.

Hainan province plans to ban the sale of fossil fuel-powered vehicles by 2030, aiming to become the first province in China to doso. In a ddition, except for special purposes, vehicles in the public service field and social operation field of Hainan will be fully powered by clean energy, and the proportion of new energy vehicles added and replaced in the private vehicle field will reach 100% by 2030, according to the carbon neutrality plan Hainan's provincial government issued in August this year.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of GZ New Energy Group, Longtuteng focuses on providing green energy replenishment services in the NEV, car maintenance, and private vehicle fields.

As of today, Aulton has operated over 740 battery swap stations in 54 Chinese cities. The company expects to deploy over 10,000 battery swap stations across China by the end of 2025.
