Geely Holding to set up multiple new energy vehicle projects in Ningbo
Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 22, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) inked a series of cooperation agreements for new energy vehicle projects with the municipal government of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province.

Geely Holding said it would speed up the transformation and upgrading of Ningbo's industrial layout of new energy vehicles, introduce multiple brands and types of new energy vehicle models to the local industry. The auto giant aims to help Ningbo to build a "city of new energy intelligent vehicles" and establish a trillion yuan-level automobile industry cluster.
Geely Holding and the Ningbo city holds profound relationship which can be dated back to 1999. The automaker and its multiple sub-brands all have offices in the city, including Geely’s headquarters, Lynk & Co’s head office, as well as smart and ZEEKR’s global headquarters.
As one of the major auto groups in China, Geely has been actively exploring the development of various new energy technologies, including battery electric, hybrid power, battery swap, and methanol fuel.
In the first eleven months of 2022, Geely Automobile, the Hong Kong-listed subsidiary of Geely Holding, sold 1,286,971 vehicles, which climbed up 10% from a year ago. In the Jan.-Nov. period, Geely Automobile’s total new energy vehicle sales amounted to 284,177 units, shooting up 335% from the previous year.
