Volkswagen’s ID.7 all-electric sedan to be sold in China by two joint ventures
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- At the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2023 held between Jan. 5 and Jan. 8, 2023 in Las Vegas, Volkswagen Group of America will display the ID.7, its first full-electric sedan built on the modular electric drive matrix (MEB), according to a press release from Volkswagen Group.
The ID.7 will be showcased with smart camouflage, which uses unique technology and multi-layered paintwork to deliver a sparkling effect on part of the car body.

The ID.7 will be the mass-produced version of the ID. AERO concept vehicle initially presented in China, indicating the new flagship model will feature an exceptional aerodynamic design that enables a WLTP-rated range of up to 700km.

The ID.7 will be the sixth model from the ID. family following the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.6 (only sold in China) models and the new ID. Buzz, and is also Volkswagen Group's second global model riding on the MEB platform after the ID.4. The all-electric sedan is planned to be launched in China, Europe, and North America. In China, the ID.7 will have two variants respectively produced by the German auto giant's two joint ventures in the country.

As the newest MEB-based model, the ID.7 features quite a few updated functions to meet users' demands. A host of innovations come as standard in the ID.7, such as the new display and interaction interface, the augmented reality head-up display, a 15-inch screen, the new air conditioning controls integrated into the first level of the infotainment system, as well as illuminated touch sliders.
