Car and City: Hangzhou registers most ZEEKR 001s in 2022 among Chinese cities
ZEEKR, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand of Geely Holding, saw the monthly registrations of its first production model, the ZEEKR 001, hit an all-time high of 11,418 units in Dec. 2022, which rocketed 216.2% year on year and climbed 4.88% month on month, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute ("GARI").
Retail and fleet registrations of the ZEEKR 001 stood at 10,061 and 1,357 units in Dec. 2022, respectively.
Among the ZEEKR 001s registered last month, 9,136 and 2,282 units featured a guidance price of 299,000 yuan ($44,140) and 386,000 yuan ($56,980), respectively.
By the end of Dec. 2022, there had been 76,993 ZEEKR 001s registered across the Chinese mainland cumulatively, 71,427 units were registered last year.
In Dec. 2022, Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, topped other cities in China with 1,331 ZEEKR 001s registered, outselling Shanghai by 263 units. Chengdu was the second runner-up by Dec. registrations of the ZEEKR 001, surpassing both Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
Regarding the annual ZEEKR 001 registrations for the year of 2022, Hangzhou still outperformed others and was the only city with over 8,000 units registered. It was immediately followed by Shanghai, who saw over 6,000 ZEEKR 001s registered through 2022.
ZEEKR announced on Jan. 15 via its WeChat account that the delivery of the ZEEKR 009, its second production model and first MPV model, had already kicked off.
The full-electric MPV is expected to help ZEEKR further drive its sales. The premium EV maker aims to double its annual sales to around 140,000 vehicles in 2023, ZEEKR's CEO An Conghui, revealed earlier this month.
