NIO deploys 1,313 power swap stations in China by Jan. 2023

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- By the end of Jan. 2023, NIO has deployed across China a total of 1,313 battery swap stations, 348 of which are along expressways, the Chinese startup announced via its WeChat account.

In addition, NIO’s power network in the country has already contained 1,242 supercharging stations with 6,301 supercharging piles and 1,078 destination charging stations with 7,328 destination charging piles as of Jan. 2023.

Of those, 8 NIO Power Swap stations, 18 supercharging stations, and 20 destination stations were launched last month.

Meanwhile, the electric vehicle (EV) startup has had access to over 630,000 third-party charging piles by Jan. 2023.

From Jan. 13, 2023 to Jan. 31, 2023, the Spring Festival travel rush in China, NIO offered more than 1 million battery swaps to its users, of which over 300 thousand swaps were completed at NIO’s power swap stations along expressways, and over 11 thousand swaps were flexible battery upgrades to enhance the long-distance travel experience, said the startup.

As for the current scale of NIO’s sales and service network, the company has opened 99 NIO Houses, 299 NIO Spaces, 252 NIO service centers, 50 delivery centers, as well as 3 used car experience centers by Jan. 2023.

In Jan. 2023 alone, NIO saw 2 NIO Houses, 3 NIO Spaces, 6 NIO service centers, and 2 delivery centers open for business.
