Li Auto’s Beijing plant resumes construction, production to start at end of 2023
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese new energy vehicle startup Li Auto saw its battery-electric passenger vehicle plant in Beijing resume construction recently, awaiting factory production qualification certificate in April, according to several local media outlets on February 6.

The external construction project of Li Auto's Beijing intelligent manufacturing base has been completed. In addition to the basic facility construction, the automaker’s various approvals are being stepped up this year as well. The pre-development formalities have been completed for its new energy vehicle component base and construction of the main structure of the base is underway.
According to the media, the base will start production by the end of the year, and the first vehicle model to be built in the factory is likely to be an MPV model code-named W01.
Li Auto announced the ground breaking for its green and smart plant buildt at the former Beijing Hyundai's first plant in October 2021. The plant will utilize Beijing Hyundai’s existing workshops as much as possible, up to 60%. The new plant is expected to realize a production capacity of 100,000 vehicles annually, in phase one, Li Auto added.
