Great Wall Motor puts ORA Good Cat onto Hong Kong, Macao auto market

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Last week, Great Wall Motor successfully put the ORA Good Cat electric vehicle model onto the local new energy vehicle market in Hong Kong and Macao.

Specifically, on February 16, the automaker held the opening ceremony of the ORA flagship store and launched the ORA brand in Hong Kong Kowloon Bay. A day after, the ORA Good Cat model made debut in Macao and went on sale. The launch of the Good Cat further promoted Great Wall Motor’s strategic layout in the new energy vehicle field.

In August 2022, Great Wall Motor inked a proxy authorization agreement with car dealership Inchcape Group to explore the new energy vehicle market of Hong Kong and Macao. At that time, Great Wall Motor disclosed plans to break into the local markets with the new energy vehicle brand ORA’s right rudder vehicle models. 

The ORA project is the first cooperation between Inchcape Group and a Chinese manufacturer of electric passenger cars. Since the brand kicked off reservations for the Good Cat in Hong Kong last year, the market response has been overwhelming. 

Currently, the right rudder ORA vehicles have been deployed to Thailand, and is expected to land in the UK, Australia, South Africa, Malaysia, and other markets. The automaker aims to gradually realize full coverage of the global right rudder market.
