Geely-backed VREMT team up with Alibaba for overseas business development

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Feb. 28, VREMT, a subsidiary of Geely Holding, signed an agreement with Alibaba.com, a cross-border e-commerce platform of Alibaba Group, to conduct strategic cooperation on some “going global” projects, according to a post on VREMT’s WeChat account.

Under the agreement, Alibaba.com and VREMT will focus on the collaboration on products and equipment related to energy storage and electric vehicle charging. By leveraging the digital trade services capabilities of Alibaba.com, including digital business insights, digital marketing, and supply chain fulfillment, VREMT will be assisted in finding new opportunities in digital trade and achieving a global development strategy.  

Founded in 2013 and located in Ningbo city, Zhejiang province, VREMT belongs to Geely Holding Group and specializes in the R&D, production, sales, and after-sales service of new energy vehicle (NEV) batteries, electric motors, electric control units, charging, and energy storage system.

After more than a decade of development, VREMT has accumulated strong technical strength, gradually expanded its business to charging, energy storage and other fields, and has put a range of software and hardware products into mass production. Besides, it has already built distribution networks, warehousing and logistics facilities, and local after-sales service centers in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
