IM Motors begins delivering LS7 SUVs
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- IM Motors, the premium electric vehicle (EV) maker backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang High-Tech, started delivering its second production model and also the first SUV model, the IM LS7, on Mar. 1, according to a post on IM Motors’ WeChat account.
Users in such cities as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, and Qingdao will receive the LS7 SUVs first.
The automaker put the IM LS7 onto the market on Feb. 10 this year. Coming with six trim levels, the new model features a price range of 309,800 yuan-459,800 yuan ($44,850-$66,560).

The LS7 is positioned as a full-sized SUV, which measures 5,049 long, 2,002mm wide, and 1,731mm tall, with a wheelbase that spans 3,060mm. The five-seater SUV has a spacious 1,030-mm headroom.
The six variants are evenly divided by RWD and AWD versions. The AWD version is powered by two electric motors that are good for a combined output of 425kW and 725N·m of peak torque, while the RWD’s motor can churn out up to 250kW and 475 N·m.
Notably, the LS7 comes with two types of steering wheel for consumers to choose from. According to the automaker, nearly 90% of order customers have chosen the innovative "YAT Cruise Half-spoke Steering Wheel", outnumbering those who selected the conventional full-spoke one.
