Changan Automobile’s Shenlan brand sees Mar. deliveries double MoM

Beijing (Gasgoo)- In the third month of 2023, Changan Automobile’s new energy vehicle-dedicated brand, Shenlan, delivered 8,568 units of the SL03 sedan, according to the automaker’s announcement issued on April 1.

In comparison, monthly deliveries of the SL03 amounted to 4,103 units in February this year, which meant that Shenlan’s March deliveries doubled month on month. By the end of March 2023, Shenlan has cumulatively delivered 45,896 vehicles so far.

In the past month, Shenlan also officially unveiled its second production mode, the S7 SUV. 

In terms of exterior design, the S7 shares similarities with the SL03 sedan, featuring a family-style design language with a closed front face and split headlights. The vehicle's side profile resembles a taller version of the SL03, with unique surface designs that play with the light and shadow. Meanwhile, the taillights inherit the brand’s signature lighting elements, providing the vehicle with a distinctive look.

Like the SL03, the S7 will be offered with more than one powertrain options. The pure-electric version is equipped with a 160kW electric motor, while the range-extended version carries an electric motor good for a peak power output of 175kW and a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that produces a maximum power of 70kW.

Notably, April marked the auto brand’s first anniversary. Shenlan said that it will put on display its S7 SUV at the upcoming Auto China 2023 in Shanghai this month.
