GAC AION sees monthly sales exceed 40,000 units for second straight month

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC AION, the new energy vehicle (NEV) subsidiary of GAC Group, announced earlier this week its monthly sales stood at 41,012 units in Apr. 2023, rocketing 301.61% year on year, while also edging up 2.49% month on month, respectively.

Notably, Apr. is the second straight month for GAC AION to see its monthly sales exceed 400,000 units.

For the first four months of this year, GAC AION sold 121,320 vehicles in total, which soared 120.24% compared to the same span of 2022.

On Apr. 16, GAC AION started presales of the Hyper GT, the first model under its new marque Hyper in Shanghai, two days ahead of the Auto Shanghai 2023.

The Hyper GT comes with five variants, and one of them is compatible with battery swapping technology. They are priced from 219,900 yuan to 339,900 yuan in presale. The model is slated to hit the market in June.

As for the plan to expand its power replenishment network, GAC AION will put 38 supercharging & battery swapping stations into use in early May along the expressways in Zhejiang province.

GAC AION expects its power network to expand to contain 2,000 supercharging & battery swapping stations in 300 cities in China by the end of 2025.
