The company sold roughly 34,000 NEVs in the past month, marking a 15% year-on-year increase and a 14% month-on-month growth. Cumulatively, DFMC achieved a total NEV sales volume of about 127,000 units from January to May.
In the new energy passenger vehicle segment, DFMC sold a total of 30,000 vehicles in May 2023, reflecting an 11.9% rise from the previous year and a 10.6% jump compared to the previous month.
Within the new energy commercial vehicle sector, DFMC strategically positioned itself with two types of products, pure electric and fuel cell vehicles. In the fifth month of this year, the company sold a total of 4,549 units of new energy commercial vehicles, representing a 38.6% year-on-year surge and a 47.2% month-on-month hike.
The domestic NEV market has continued its robust growth this year, with increasing market penetration and intensifying competition, said DFMC. Aligned with its "three-year action plan for transformation and upgrading," DFMC has been steadily advancing its NEV development.
For instance, its premium NEV brand, VOYAH, achieved stable averaged monthly sales of 3,000 units from March to May this year and expanded its product lineup with the launch of the luxury electric sedan, Zhuiguang.
Meanwhile, Dongfeng Fengshen (AEOLUS) introduced the all-new electric brand eπ, with the E70 electric model bringing in a monthly sales volume of 3,011 units in May.
